Chilean joint venture BluGlacier is launching a delivery service in the US market for premium lines of fresh and frozen salmon.

The Oshen delivery service is set to launch on Nov. 1. as the company looks to cash in on demand for easy and healthy at-home meal solutions.

BluGlacier said it will deliver fish in completely biodegradable and recyclable packaging "playfully designed with witty banter."

Among the "witty banter" is a selection of delivery packages, including the enticing '"One Night Stand," which delivers customers two 8-ounce portions of skin-packed fresh salmon fillets under the tag line, "good things come with no regrets in the morning. And there is nothing to regret about dinner with Oshen Salmon."

Targeting millennials, salmon will be available in boxes containing two, four and twelve portions.

“With the need for easy, at-home solutions at an all-time high due to the pandemic, we are thrilled to deliver best-in-class salmon offerings straight from Chile to your kitchen,” said Sebastian Goycoolea, CEO of BluGlacier.

Oshen is collaborating with a number of well-known chefs to unveil a series of recipes on its website for consumers to prepare at home.

“We felt there was a gap in the market for quality and fresh salmon that was sold directly to consumers in a fun and engaging way, Evelyn Torres, the company's chief marketing officer added.

BluGlacier is a 50/50 owned by Chilean salmon producers Blumar and Ventisqueros.

In January Blumar and BluGlacier appointed Evelyn Torres as chief marketing officer.

She joined from Deloitte, having previously burnished her marketing credentials at Nielsen and Anheuser-Busch. Torres, the founder of lifestyle website Brickellista, planned to introduce consumer-oriented initiatives, including strategic brand partnerships, and overhaul the current marketing strategy.
