OBI Seafoods, the salmon and groundfish joint venture owned by Canadian seafood giant Cooke and community development quota (CDQ) group Bristol Bay Economic Development Corporation (BBEDC), announced this week its Alaska-based Petersburg plant reached a milestone, having canned 100,000 cases of salmon.

OBI Seafoods announced prior to the salmon processing season it was suspending cannery operations at its Excursion Inlet plant in southeast Alaska and centralizing production at its Petersburg plant.
