Chile-based salmon farmer Nova Austral has been fined CLP 900 million ($940,350/€923,050) and had three of its farming licenses revoked in the Magallanes region of the South American nation.

The company was found guilty of overproducing at the Cockburn 14, Cockburn 23 and Aracena 10 production sites.

The company's operations damaged the seabed at the Aracena 10 site in the Alberto de Agostini de Magallanes National Park, Chile's Environmental Superintendancy (SMA) reported.
