Norwegian salmon farmer Masoval announced a potential outbreak of Infectious Salmon Anemia (ISA) at its Slettvika site in western Norway on Aug. 19.

The site contains 535,000 fish with an average weight of three kilos, said the company, which is awaiting confirmation of analyzes to verify the diagnosis.

The consequences of any detection of the disease are difficult to estimate now, said Masoval.

The company is working on mapping the possible scope of the infection and said it will offer more details on the financial impact soon.
