NTS-owned Midt-Norsk Havbruk announced Thursday a possible case of infectious salmon anemia (ISA) at a site in in Norway's Kvalrosskjaeret operated by its partner company Bjoroya.

The site has 630,000 fish with an average weight of 4.3 kilos.

Bjoroya is awaiting confirmation to determine whether ISA is present.

"The consequences of a possible disease detection are, therefore, difficult to estimate now," said the company.

"The cooperation partners are continuing to work on mapping the possible extent of infection, and we will return to the consequences in more detail."
