Norwegian farmed salmon prices rebounding after last week's tumble

Norwegian farmed salmon prices for delivery next week are expected to move higher after a steep fall last week.

Farmed salmon prices fell sharply last week as buyers pushed back and availability rose after spending a number of weeks at record-high levels.

The average price of salmon ended at NOK 100.55/kg (€9.78/$10.33), according to Nasdaq's salmon price index for week 19, a decrease of NOK 21.55/kg (€2.09/$2.21) from the previous week.

But on Friday afternoon industry sources told IntraFish they now expect a slight upturn.
