More than two million juvenile salmon will be euthanized at a Mowi Newfoundland and Labrador site after the group found positive samples of the infectious salmon anemia (ISA) virus, the company said Tuesday.

The infection was detected and confirmed during routine sampling at the company’s freshwater hatchery facility in Stephenville, Newfoundland and Labrador.

The company is currently making plans to euthanize the affected salmon.
