The world's largest salmon farmer, Mowi, will put off land-based salmon farming unless the Norwegian government decides to implement a resource tax on at-sea aquaculture operations, CEO Ivan Vindheim said during an investor presentation on Wednesday.

"In the end, it is about cost," Vindheim said. "We don't believe in a resource tax on fjord-based salmon farming and as long as that is the case we will continue to put our money in that type of farming."
