Salmon farming giant Mowi reported yet another major die-off at its Eastern Canada operations, the latest in a number of incidents that has pushed total publicly reported losses for the company's operations past 1 million fish since September this year.

Mowi Canada East reported a mass die-off of more than 48,000 salmon at its Northern Harvest Sea Farms operation in Little Burdock Cove on Dec. 3, blaming the loss on a combination of sea lice, fish health treatments and prolonged rough weather at site.
