Oxygen deficiency killed 35,000 of Mowi's salmon smolt during their transferal aboard the wellboat Robas early last month, according to documents seen by IntraFish.
The 150-gram fish were being transfered from Mowi's hatchery in Tosbotn to its broodstock facility in Movik, Sorfold, when the oxygenation supply onboard the vessel shut down, including the permanent life support system and pumps, resulting in a severe oxygen drop in the wells.
