Retail giant Walmart is launching a new smoked salmon brand produced by the Kitasoo/Xai'xais First Nation in partnership with Norway-based salmon farmer Mowi.
The hot smoked item, carried under the new brand, Klemtu Spirit, will be carried exclusively at the retail giant across 330 Canada stores.
The new item is processed and packaged by the First Nation in the remote community of Klemtu, in British Columbia.
Klemtu is the most remote salmon farming operation in British Columbia, located around 310 miles north of Vancouver.
