Swedish-based Quality Salmon, which on completion of its project will be one of the largest land-based salmon farms in Europe, has hit a snag in it plans that is expected to delay the project by as much as a year.

The company initially planned to start construction by the latter part of 2022 and to reach its ambitious 100,000 metric ton production target by 2027.

However, its timeline has been delayed by an estimated 10-12 months due to complications during an application handover with the municipality of Sotenas, Sweden, last autumn and an ongoing archeological survey of the building site being carried out by the county museum.
