UK retailer Marks and Spencer (M&S) is defending Scottish Sea Farms (SSF) over allegations the salmon farmer misreported medicine use at its farming sites over a three-year period between 2015 and 2017.

The Sunday Times reported on Dec. 5 that SSF, which is jointly owned by Norwegian salmon farmers Leroy Seafood and SalMar, was officially reprimanded by the Scottish Environment Protection Agency (SEPA) in February last year for underreporting its use of sea lice medicines.

SEPA accused the company of supplying information that "was not true and accurate" in 2015, 2016 and 2017, The Times reported, citing documents seen by investigative journalism co-operative The Ferret.
