An employee fell from the roof of a facility belonging to Leroy Seafood Group's whitefish division, Leroy Norway Seafoods, in what is the third serious work accident at the company in six months.
The latest accident happened at Leroy Norway Seafoods Skarvagen facility in Vesteralen on March 13, when the employee was making a rooftop installation.
The employee stepped off the roof edge and fell 2.75 meters (9 feet) to the ground, according to the Norwegian Labor Inspection Authority.
The work on the roof was taking place "without any form of fall protection in the form of railings or the like,” the Labor Inspection Authority noted in a report.
