Land-based Atlantic salmon farmer Nordic Aqua Partners is in dialogues with major retail players across China ahead of the farmer's first harvest next year.

There is significant interest from potential buyers, but nothing is signed yet, Nordic Aqua Partner CEO Ove Nodland and Chairman Ragnar Joensen told IntraFish during a joint interview.

Management of the Oslo-listed, China-based group has been following the changing consumer behavior in China during the last few years with interest.

China is seeing a notable shift away from its traditional reliance on the HoReCa (hotel, restaurant and catering) market towards online shopping and home deliveries of fresh food, and today 55 percent of all retail spending comes from online channels, Nodland said.
