Land-based salmon farmer Swiss Blue Salmon partners with Norwegian RAS designer

Swiss land-based salmon farmer Swiss Blue Salmon is partnering with Norway-based recirculating aquaculture systems (RAS) designer VAQ for its Swiss 3,400 metric ton salmon farm in Mollis in eastern Switzerland.

Swiss Blue Salmon is planning a salmon growout facility that could replace up to 8 percent of Switzerland's imported salmon, the company said in its LinkedIn post on the announcement.

“We have spent the last six months reviewing our strategy and developing a clear vision. This led us to do an extensive assessment of the RAS designers and VAQ came out on top," Swiss Blue Salmon CTO Sune Moller said.
