Nutreco-backed land-based salmon farmer Nordic Aqua Partners said it expects to complete its first salmon harvest at its land-based salmon farming facility in Ningbo, China, in the first quarter of 2024.
With its first batch of salmon reaching average weights of 900 grams this month, company executives are participating in seafood exhibitions in China to meet potential customers.
"Nordic Aqua is on track to become the first local producer of Atlantic salmon to the Chinese market, and thereby in pole position to deliver fresh and locally farmed Atlantic salmon to about 100 million of China’s wealthiest consumers within five hours," company CEO Ragnar Joensen said.
