Norwegian land-based salmon producer Andfjord Salmon is further fast-tracking expansion, putting into motion plans to grow increase production by 50 percent to 19,000 metric tons at its Kvalnes, Norway, facility.

This is equivalent to an annual earnings increase of NOK 500 million (€49 million/$60 million), according to a company press release to the Oslo Stock Exchange on Friday.

It follows a decision by the company at the end of last year to go from a sequential development plan at the site of its first farm in Kvalnes to a parallel development strategy for the full Kvalnes area, reducing overall project and biological risk.
