Per Grieg-backed land-based salmon company Proximar Seafood has announced that its first batch of juvenile Atlantic salmon has been successfully transferred to the feeding department and has started to take feed.

This marks a significant step for the company’s production team, after the first eggs were successfully inserted in the company’s hatchery in Oyama, Japan in October 2022.

Proximar will insert similar batches into the hatchery each month going forward, enabling continuous harvest from the middle of 2024.

The company is pleased with progress on both the construction works and also the operational side according to CEO Joachim Nielsen.
