Proximar, the stock-listed Norwegian company behind plans for a Japanese land-based salmon farm, is expecting its first harvest to take place in the second quarter of 2024, and appointed two high-level executives to its board.

The company, which is in the project development phase, said its hatchery will be completed in the third quarter of this year and work on building the grow-out systems will begin in April.

Nutreco Chief Innovation Officer Viggo Halseth and Peter Hermanrud, chief strategist at Norwegian bank Sparebank 1, were elected as new board members.
