A new era for farmed salmon prices is upon us, according to Nordea seafood analyst Herman Aleksander Dahl.

The average price for Norwegian salmon was around NOK 60 (€5.10/$5.50) per kilo between 2016 and 2021, Dahl estimated.

"From 2022 and going forward three to five years, however, we will enter a new era where average kilo prices will hover around NOK 90 (€7.70/$8.40)," Dahl told an audience at Nordea's seminar during the AquaNor conference in Trondheim, Norway, this week.

Cost for salmon farmers will also increase, and Dahl forecasts farmers will see earnings before interest and taxes (EBIT) of NOK 20 (€1.70/$1.80)
