Fledgling land-based salmon farmer Smart Salmon plans to deliver the first fish from its €135 million ($160 million) production plant in Brittany, France, by the end of 2024.
The company plans to build a 50,000-square-meter production site capable of initially producing 10,000 metric tons a year on 100 acres at Plouisy near Guingamp, four hours from Paris.
Production could be later doubled to 20,000 metric tons.
