Outbreaks of the deadly infectious salmon anemia (ISA) virus in Norway's farmed salmon industry are down significantly through the first half of the year compared with the same period last year.

The disease has been detected at just five locations in Norway so far this year, though two as-yet unconfirmed cases were reported in July.

During the first half of 2021, 14 outbreaks were recorded, and during the same period in 2020 there were 11 outbreaks.
