Despite high salmon prices, continued inflation and an ongoing cost of living crisis amongst its key consumer base, industry players in the European smoked salmon market are optimistic for a bright Christmas period.
The sector has not been shielded from the cost increases that have hit all proteins in the past year or more and salmon has been particularly impacted by significant inflation over the last 18 months, which included Christmas 2022.
