Norwegian group Coast Seafood announced Friday it acquired Danish salmon processing group Vega Salmon from private equity group Maj Invest. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Vega Salmon, based in Kolding, Denmark, has annual revenues of DKK 1.3 billion (€174 million/$189 million).

The company has production of around 25,000 metric tons of salmon, including fresh, frozen, smoked and other value-added products.

Vega will allow Coast Seafood to increase sales of processed salmon to the global market, Coast Seafood CEO Sverre Soraa said.
