Claims against Norwegian land-based salmon farmer Salmo Terras have tripled since its owners first declared the company bankrupt in August.

Seven creditors have now filed claims of roughly NOK 94 million ($8.2 million/$8.8 million) against the company. A probate meeting regarding the claims is scheduled for Oct. 5.

Salmo Terra had been working to build a land-based salmon farm in western Norway, and it had permits to produce 8,000 metric tons per year, a volume that would have made it one of Norway's biggest recirculating aquaculture system (RAS) farms.
