The presence of the infectious salmon anemia (ISA) virus has been detected at a production site owned by Chilean salmon farming company Granja Marina, under a monitoring program carried out by the country's National Fisheries and Aquaculture Service (Sernapesca).

Positive test results showed up at the Rio Union fish farm in the Puyuhuapi area of the Aysen region.

The company was notified on April 29.

Since then, the site has been under surveillance, awaiting results of the samples sent to Sernapesca laboratories.
