An upturn in prices in November, the emergence of COVID-19 vaccines, the prospect of increased Chinese orders and reduced salmon harvests in 2021 all point to better demand for the salmon industry, according to Chilean Salmon Council Executive Dirctor Joanna Davidovich.

The Chilean Salmon Council trade association represents five leading salmon-producing companies in Chile: AquaChile, Cermaq, Mowi, Salmones Aysén and Australis Seafoods, which account for around 52 percent of the south American nation's production.

"In November there was slight increase in prices, which is the thing that has punished us most," Davidovich said in an audio interview posted on her Linkedin page.
