A court in Puerto Aysen, Chile, has ruled that Chilean salmon producer Salmones Blumar must pay a $39,228 (€35,765) fine and suspend operations at its Dring 2 site for a producton cycle, El Mercurio reported.

The company was found to have provided false information in relation to a production cycle at Dring 2 in 2015, following a complaint made by the National Fisheries and Aquaculture Service (Sernapesca).

Labels indicated the shipment of 4,561 metric tons from the Dring 2 site, 657 tons more than was authorized under environmental rules, authorities said.
