Bakkafrost struggles to raise earnings as 'surprisingly slow growth' pushes company to delay harvest

Earnings for Bakkafrost nudged down in the third quarter as the Faroes-based salmon farmer struggled to grow its business.

Operating earnings before interest, tax, depreciation and amortization (EBITDA) dropped 8 percent year-on-year to DKK 424 million (€56.8 million/$60.9 million) on stagnant sales income and slow fish growth.

Operating revenue barely moved, sitting 0.4 percent lower at DKK 1.9 billion (€249.2 million/$267 million).
