Faroese salmon farmer Bakkafrost revealed losses from its Scottish operations of nearly $27 million (€24 million) over the past couple of months, due to ongoing biological issues resulting in "exceptional mortality."

The group suffered severe biological issues in its farming operation in Scotland during the third quarter, and problems persisted into October and November.

The company announced Sunday night that these losses in the fourth quarter amounted to DKK 174.6 million (€24.4 million/$26.3 million) in total for October and November 2021.
