Salmon egg supplier AquaGen's new Profunda full-cycle plant, which opened this week, is eventually expected to supply customers worldwide with a year-round supply of eggs.

The facility, which produces up to 100 million eggs a year, will supply sea-based and land-based operations, but the company plans to prioritize exports once permits are secured.

To export eggs across the world the site needs to secure status as a specific pathogen-free supplier from the World Organization for Animal Health (WOAH).
