Chilean premium smoked salmon brand Verlasso, owned by parent company AquaChile, has harvested its first fish from its production sites in the country's Magallanes region in the far south of Patagonia.

Fresh and frozen salmon produced at the sites will be sold in the US, Asian, European and Latin American markets.

Last year AquaChile announced newly acquired farms in Chile's Region XII would be dedicated to the production of Verlasso branded salmon. Salmon for the brand was previously produced in Chile's X and XI regions.
