NTS-owned Midt-Norsk Havbruk announced Wednesday it suspects an outbreak of infectious salmon anemia (ISA) at a site operated by its partner Bjoroya.

Bjoroya suspects the fish disease at its Krakholmen site, which currently has around 1.18 million fish with an average weight of 4.2 kilos.

The company is awaiting confirmation a before final determination of ISA.

"The consequences of a possible disease detection are, therefore, difficult to estimate now," the company said.

"The cooperation partners are continuing to work on mapping the possible extent of infection, and we will return to the consequences in more detail."
