The land-based salmon farming gold rush continues, with yet another Norwegian group unveiling ambitious construction plans and announcing its intention to eventually pursue an initial public offering (IPO).

Maloy, Norway-based OFS Group has secured NOK 58 million (€5.7 million/$6.9 million) in grants and loans from Norwegian government-backed Innovation Norway, and lender Sparebanken Vest to develop the project -- called Ontec Academy -- in Barstadvika, Norway.

The project plans to eventually produce 15,000 metric tons of salmon.
