The Icelandic Competition Authority (ICA) will further investigate the potential merger of salmon farmers Arnarlax and Arctic Fish, which would come about following SalMar's proposed acquisition of NTS.

In February, Norwegian salmon farming giant SalMar submitted a bid for fellow Norwegian aquaculture group NTS for NOK 120 (€11.90/$11.90) per share, valuing the equity capital of NTS at approximately NOK 15.1 billion (€1.5 billion/$1.5 billion).

Then, in May, the group also said it is acquiring fellow producer Norway Royal Salmon (NRS) and will merge the two companies.
