The wild capture sector needs to embrace the rapidly advancing processing industry and be more aware of the many opportunities technology offers for companies to maximize value from their catch, according to Petur Hafsteinn Palsson, CEO of Icelandic fish company Visir.
“The groundfish processing industry is at a crossroads – people can either take advantage of these technological advances or continue to ship fish around the world for processing,” he said. “There are so many opportunities, and we have to work with change, not against it.”
