The US Department of Agriculture (USDA) has released a bid solicitation for nearly 26,000* cases of canned pink salmon.

The product will be used for the agency's National School Lunch program and Federal Food and Nutrition Assistance Programs.

The agency will announce the accepted submissions by Dec. 23, with deliveries to made between March of next year through June of next year.

The USDA bid is for 24-count cases of 14.75 ounces of canned pink salmon.

In an earlier bid this year, offers ranged from Trident Seafoods' offer of $47.63 (€42.83) per case to Icicle Seafoods' $66.58 (€59.87) per case.

Peter Pan Seafoods and Ocean Beauty Seafoods also made offers in the $60 (€53.95) per case range.
