Scotland-based International Fish Canners (IFC) has acquired a 75 percent stake in seafood processor and trading company Noland Seafoods (UK), Edward Nolan, a member of the family-owned business, told IntraFish.

The deal, closed on Tuesday, is “a great fit for everyone, and both parties are very happy,” Nolan said.

“IFC is looking to broaden their base, and while IFC is mostly UK-based, Noland Seafoods is mostly export-based so I think there is a very good crossover there."

Noland Seafoods (UK) is majority owned by Ireland’s Nolan Quality Seafood, and based in Aberdeen.
