The US Department of Agriculture awarded Trident Seafoods a $6.6 million (€5.6 million) contract in May for frozen Alaska pollock fillets and frozen Alaska pollock fish sticks.
The USDA agreed to purchase just under 2.3 million pounds of frozen Alaska pollock for $3.2 million (€2.7 million) and just more than 1.4 million pounds of Alaska pollock sticks at $3.4 million (€2.9 million).
The items, produced at the company's Akutan plant, will be distributed throughout the United States between Sept. 1-Feb.
