Trident Seafoods said this week it will invest in three operations after striking a deal with Aleutian Pribilof Island Community Development Association (APICDA).
Trident and APICDA will jointly own False Pass, Alaska-based processing facility Bering Pacific Seafoods (BPS), a fuel farm and Washington-based secondary processor Cannon Fish Company.
The companies were in talks for a couple of weeks leading up to this agreement, said Trident Spokesperson Joe Plesha.
APICDA constructed BPS in 2008, "but continued to struggle with profitability," according to its website.
