Taiwanese company Anyong Biotechnology is in the process of establishing Asia's "most advanced processing plant" in Kaohsiung, after an investment of TWD 300 million (€8.7 million/$9.5 million), Mel Huang, chief operating vice president at parent Topco Group, told IntraFish.
The plant is expected to become operational in the first quarter of 2017, he said on the sidelines of the 2016 Taiwan International Fisheries and Seafood Show.
Anyong is planning to process frozen giant grouper, green grouper, sea perch, cobia, shrimp and milkfish at the facility.
