A batch of listeria-infected salmon reported by the Singapore Food Agency was linked back to Norwegian salmon farmer Cermaq.

On July 31, the Singapore Food Agency warned salmon importer Yu Fish that a batch of its Norwegian salmon dated July had the bacteria, and asked the importer to recall the product.

After initially rejecting the claims, the Norwegian Food Safety Authority confirmed the bacteria was detected at a Norwegian salmon farm.

"We were told Cermaq found listeria in its farm in Hammerfest on Tuesday, the company has taken all necessary action in relation to the Norwegian Food Safety Authority," Siv June Hansen, head of the Finnmark department at the Norwegian Food Safety Authority told IntraFish.
