Seafarms Group, which is planning to build the world's largest shrimp farm in Australia's Northern Territory, has secured a 52 hectare site at Kununurra to build its processing facility for Project Sea Dragon, reports The West Australian.

Seafarms entered into a long-term lease agreement which includes a land purchase option once certain capital improvements have been made.

The site is large enough to enable staged expansion of the processing facility, ultimately up to 420 metric tons a day.
