Food Standards Scotland (FSS) helped battle a £180 million (€200.3 million/$224.7 million) scam involving sales of "fake" fresh tuna, reports The Times.
Scottish environmental health officers took samples of tuna nationwide. In Europe, 51 metric tons of frozen tuna were seized with the majority from Spain.
The authority previously warned of food crimes and the serious health risks surrounding them.
The scam involves illegally treating tuna with vegetable extracts, which are high in nitrates, to seem fresher.
