Russia's Murman Seafood Company commissioned a €10.3 million ($11.6 million) groundfish processing plant in Kola city, Russia, expected to begin operations in August 2019.

The company signed a contract with salmon and groundfish processing equipment group Valka for the design and construction of the new processing plant.

Murman Seafood currently operates six trawlers and is one of only eight seafood companies granted higher fishing quotas in exchange for constructing domestic plants in Russia.

The new Kola plant will give Murman the ability to completely maximize a daily capacity of up to 50 metric tons of raw material using innovative equipment and processes.
