Royal Greenland said it will shutter its Aalborg shrimp processing plant, its only remaining production facility in Denmark.

The company carried out production of prawns in brine and the packing of cooked & peeled prawns and shell-on prawns at the site.

At the end of 2018, executives took a decision to shift these activities to Cuxhaven in Germany by the end of this year.

Royal Greenland already runs two processing plants under shared management and administration in Cuxhaven, producing lumpfish roe in glass jars and its zip-lock/chain-pack range.
