NSD Seafood has closed on a deal to purchase all of National Fish's assets, with plans to refire operations, possibly within a week, at the former National Fish facility in Massachusetts, the Gloucester Times reports.

The new entity will be called Atlantic Fish & Seafood, the news site reports.

NSD Seafood's Nicholas M. Osgood, a principal with the company, told the news site he is looking to bring back laid off workers as NSD Seafood completes its takeover of National Fish.

National Fish, which shut own in May amidst several lawsuits, owned the Matlaws brand, the second oldest seafood brand in the United States.

Majority owned by Hong Kong-based Pacific Andes International Holdings Limited, National Fish had been seeking a buyer since late 2017.
