Norwegian salmon processing company Inka invested NOK 140 million (€14.3 million/$16 million) in a factory close to Bergen, Norway, creating more than 70 local jobs.

The company signed a contract with Norwegian salmon distributor Seaborn and machine provider Marel for eight years with the possibility to extend. The factory, expected to be complete on June 2020, anticipates producing 40 metric tons of fish per day shift.

The plans were presented during Brussels Seafood Expo earlier this week. The factory will produce A, B, C and D trim salmon in vacuum and frozen packaging, with the possibility of expanding the range in the future.
