Dutch seafood processor Noordzee is about to begin supplying clients in Europe, Asia and the United States with salmon from its recently acquired processing plant in The Netherlands.

The company, which traditionally processed wild-caught groundfish such as cod, sole and plaice, is entering the salmon market at the request of clients who are interested in products with year-round availability.

“We have a growth model that didn’t add up with the challenging conditions of wild catch for these species,” Rein Kramer, business development manager at Noordzee International, told IntraFish.
